"The student will read phrases with improved rate and accuracy" is the objective of our next two activities. Chunking, the original activity, falls outside of the continuum because no adaptations have been made. Some students may not benefit from the Chunking activity; therefore, an adapted Chunking activity contains a change in the Instructional Content. Because some students with severe reading difficulties may be unable to benefit from the adapted Chunking, the Phrase Card Reading activity can be used. This activity involves several adaptations across the Instructional Content, Instructional Activity, Material/AT, and Delivery of Instruction categories.
