In this section, we discussed fluency as an important reading skill and described how fluency is a combination of rate, accuracy, and prosody. We learned how to assess and monitor reading fluency. We also discussed the guidelines for building reading fluency, and we applied those guidelines to specific fluency-building activities. We then presented various adaptations for the activities, with specific references to the adaptations framework, the adaptation categories, and the adaptations continuum.
