Let's look at the Partner Reading lesson from the perspective of the adaptations framework and our case study, Andrea. The objective of the lesson is, "The student will read passages with improved rate and accuracy." Review the Handout: Application of Adaptations Framework for Andrea and complete the Requisite Abilities column. Read the case study for Andrea and complete the Student-Specific Characteristics column. Considering the setting-specific demands and Andrea's student-specific characteristics, think of an adaptation for each category that might help her meet the objective of the Partner Reading lesson. Write the adaptations that you generate in the appropriate category. As a resource, additional fluency-building lessons have been provided.
